Henry Wofford

Henry Wofford trains leaders to perform under pressure when the spotlight is brightest and the stakes are highest. As a crisis communications expert and on-air talent coach, he prepares executives and public officials to deliver clear, confident, and credible messages during media interviews, press conferences, and across social media—when one misstep can define the story.

Henry brings more than 20 years of Emmy Award–winning broadcast journalism experience to every training. He knows how reporters think, how headlines are built, and how narratives gain momentum. His clients include Sheriffs, Police and Fire Chiefs, District Attorneys, elected officials, CEOs, public health leaders, and school superintendents who rely on him to sharpen messaging, handle tough questions, and maintain public trust during critical incidents.

Since 2018, Henry has served as the Public Information Officer and spokesperson for a California Sheriff’s Office, leading communications for high-profile events with local, national, and international media attention—including officer-involved shootings, wildfires, major criminal cases, protests, and COVID-related incidents. He holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and teaches public information and crisis communication courses throughout California, offering practical, real-world training grounded in experience and theory.

Dr. Zachary Hall

Dr. Hall is a lead instructor for Public Information education in the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Operations (CalOES). For the last 12 years, Dr. Hall, a CalOES expert, has designed and delivered public information courses to help organizational leaders plan for and communicate effectively during crises. Dr. Hall’s instructional topics include crisis communication, crisis communication strategy, media relations, public speaking, Joint Information Center management, and PIO survival skills.

For three years, Dr. Hall served as a strategic marketing consultant for the “TechCenter” within the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Dr. Hall’s scope of work included researching, developing, and writing statewide strategic marketing plans, high-level C-Suite-focused white papers, and delivering keynote presentations at statewide conferences. His professional experience includes working in the marketing and multimedia industry in Silicon Valley. For the last 20 years, Dr. Hall has served as a communication studies instructor at the collegiate and university level, and he writes and speaks for national and statewide organizations about the relationship between leadership, strategy, and communication within public organizations.

Dr. Hall holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California at Santa Barbara, a master’s degree in Mass Communication from San Jose State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Multi-Media Management from California State University, Northridge. Dr. Hall is a tenured Communication Studies Professor at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.
